Legendlore offers a diverse and inclusive world filled with adventure and mystery. Fight megalomaniacal dictators, explore magic and strange science, and claim your Legend as you find a way back home.

In this book you’ll find:

  • 18 backgrounds to play as yourself in Legendlore, such as activist or scientist
  • Legend mechanics to represent your destiny, plus 5 sample Legends
  • Seven player races, including pixies and orcs
  • Two new classes, the alchemist and gunslinger, and 15 sub-classes
  • A starting adventure with five pregenerated characters

Love, love, love this book. I'm a Scarred Lands newbie coming to it for 5e and was super excited for this monster collection and to explore other books from the creator. With the OGL 1.1 drama unfolding I went ahead and bought physical copies of the player's guide and this creature collection although I've already picked up the pdfs. Hope the creators are able to keep their great work going forward in the future either with one of the new OGLs being cooked up by Paizo, MCDM, or Kobold Press or with their own in-house system. You guys deserve great success. #OpenDND

For anybody that's curious, I went through the table of contents for this new iteration and compared it to the original Creature Collection publications (I-III) for 3e/3.5e.

Approximately 40% of the creatures within are from CC1, 30% from CC2, 14% from CC3, and 15% from other sources or de novo.

Premium uses higher quality paper for crisper images.

There are currently no plans for a PF 1e version. An enterprising community member could post PF1e conversions via Slarecian Vault.

The original Creature Collection book series (I-III) was for D&D3.5, so they are 100% compatible with Pathfinder 1e, which is often referred to as D&D3.75...

IIRC it was Creature Collection Revised, or something that was the 3.5e version?

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
