Create Heroic Characters to Conquer the Elements!

Not inherently evil, elemental power can be mastered by those with both malevolent and benign intentions. The Elemental Evil Player’s Companion provides everything players need to build a character that is tied directly into the Elemental Evil storyline.

New race options include the aarakocra, deep gnome, genasi, and goliath. Additionally, a plethora of new spells put the elements directly at your command.

The Elemental Evil Player’s Companion, was original designed by Richard Baker, Robert J. Schwalb and Stephen Schubert, with additional design and development by Wizards D&D R&D.

This accessory is specifically meant to support the Elemental Evil–Princes of the Apocalypse adventure product.

The cover features a fantastic illustration by Raymond Swanland.

This version of the PDF is fully bookmarked.

Note on the Print Editions: Standard Color uses a thinner paper stock than Premium Color. This usually means the colors are much less vivid, but it also means the price drops a bit per page in the production process.

Examples of pages: Premium Color vs. Standard Color.

We (Wizards) recognize that some of the legacy content available on this website does not reflect the values of the Dungeons & Dragons franchise today. Some older content may reflect ethnic, racial, and gender prejudice that were commonplace in American society at that time. These depictions were wrong then and are wrong today. This content is presented as it was originally created, because to do otherwise would be the same as claiming these prejudices never existed. Dungeons & Dragons teaches that diversity is a strength, and we strive to make our D&D products as welcoming and inclusive as possible. This part of our work will never end.

I had ordered the Softcover, Premium Color Book on this and it arrived today. I really like that I can add this to my library.

Weird thing is the print also includes 50 pages of Heroes of Wakesong (which I believe is https://www.drivethrurpg.com/product/406227/Heroes-of-WakeSong) bound in the same Premium Color Book. I'm not sure how I feel about a 2nd book just added into this one. It's even the first part. I have to flip about 50 pages in before I get to the EEPC material.

Will the Standard Color Perfect Bound version ever return? I know for a bit that there was both a Standard Color Perfect Bound and a Premium Color Staple Bound. Will the alternate option ever come back?

I have had a really hard time locating the updated PDF. I have it, but couldn't figure out how to find it again. Then I finally located it, official too, on WotC's own web site.

Assuming I am allowed to link it, here it is below. It is the PDF with the "Updated November 2017" tag at the bottom of the credits page. In case anyone didn't already know, the one on this DTRPG page is not updated, and if you pay for the POD, it also will not be updated (as far as I know.)

Yes, agreed. The version you linked is more current despite the most recent PDF here having a newer creation date. Not sure what is up with that but the one on the Wizards site is plainly the more recent. Thanks!

Thanks for that! I was wondering what was going on here. This book is going to need to be updated again to bring the Goliath into line with the version from Rime of the Frostmaiden.

The new one seems to have some new formatting wonkiness, and the spells Create Bonfire, Control Flames, and Control Wind have had their order shuffled (Create Bonfire moved up before the other two, putting it out of order in the alphabetical listing of these spells).

Nothing of any significance seems to have changed. I am highly confused as to why they have uploaded the same thing, just...formatted more strangely.

Actually the spell-rearrangement is present in my old copy too... the only difference between the existing copy I have and this is formatting fixes.

The update may have been them re-adding the POD option.

Does that mean the spells and errata are finally up to date with Xanathar's Guide to Everything, even for the POD?

Nope, the "updated November 2017" text is absent from the beginning, and Catapult still has a range of 150 feet instead of XGtE's 60 feet, so it's not up to date.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
