Selected Option:

Dungeon Full of Monsters is a modular megadungeon for use with Labyrinth Lord and other old school fantasy role-playing games.

The Dungeon is Modular
The megadungeon is composed of 50 individual sections, separated into 5 different levels. You can assemble these in any configuration you like, either randomly or not, either before the campaign or on-the-fly in play. You can also use these sectiosn on their own, without reference to the larger dungeon itself.

And Full of Monsters
The second half of the book contains dozens of monsters, illustrated in full colour, often with multiple variations and types. Combined with the unique monsters located in specific dungeon sections, this book contains over 150 different monster stat blocks. There are criminal organizations, insane cultists, meddling deities, evil wizards, undead kings, infernal demons and other invaders from beyond the stars, numerous unspeakable horrors and arcane beasts, and even a few rival adventurers. Use these monsters with this dungeon or any other.

Specific conversion guidelines for The Nightmares Underneath are also provided.

Dungeon Full of Monsters was written by Johnstone Metzger and illustrated by Nathan Jones.

THE NEW AND IMPROVED SECOND EDITION

Where the original version was 5.5x8.5 half-letter sized and 352 pages, the new improved version is 11x8.5 letter landscape and only 198 pages even though it contains additional material. A series of outside encounters have been added, so adventurers can be murdered by monsters before they even set foot inside the dungeon!

Both versions are provided in pdf, plus separate map files and monster illustrations.

The print version is 11x8.5 letter landscape, 198 pages long, and comes in either hardcover or softcover. The new layout makes the book much easier to consult at the table during a game.

PURCHASER
Would you please consider adding a version of 2nd Edition in the old format? Letter landscape is a near-useless option for home printing. The other option is perfect for booklet-size printing and binding.

I added a 30-page publisher preview, you should be able to click through now (the file was originally a little too large so I had to lower the quality slightly to make it smaller).

Some of the monsters are the same, but the stats given here are for Labyrinth Lord (and other old school dungeoncrawlers), instead of Dungeon World. Most of the dungeons are unique to this book (and the dungeon section is longer than the monster section).

Okay. I am not a fan of DW and was hoping most of them were converted in this book.

Thank you for finding a way of making it more affordable.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
