p16 says "The characters receive the following loot, divided up amongst the party" but there isn't any loot listed, just the shuttle. Is there supposed to be loot to divide here? If not, the two intro Loot paragraphs just add confusion.

I've downloaded the PDF, but when I try to open it my computer is telling me its password protected. Anybody got any ideas on how to fix that?

Any chance we can get the map files as scalable images, so I can print a play mat?

I love the game. I love the fact that it's compatible with original 5e material. I plan on running Fall of the Eos Kelder to introduce new players to the game. However, what does a Lorendi look like? I can't find anything about them in the starter adventure or core manual.

I finally found information on the Lorendi under the Eldori in the core manual.

I had the same problem: needing to describe a full ship of lorendi without knowing what they're supposed to look like. I finally found this gem “Her scaled reddish skin and snowy hair reveals her to be lorendi.” It would be helpful if this description was more prominently included at the beginning of the adventure in a future revision.

I have a question as well. On page 19 of the PDF, the warblade is listed as possessing the "special" property, but the nature of its special qualities are not explained. The shotgun and sniper rifle also have the "special" property, and it's explained for them - but not for the warblade. Is the "special" listing for the warblade a typo, or does it actually have a special quality? Thanks.

Hi, Zack. Here is Rich's response for your question:

The Warblade's special property has to do with the optional cover rules that will be listed in the Core Manual, which is why it was left out of the Starter Adventure. It's a wide blade that goes all the way down past the handle, granting it a special property.

I can give you a version that can work in the starter adventure: If you are using the warblade with two hands, the benefit you gain from half-cover will increase to three-quarters cover. This does provide any benefit if you have no cover at all and does not increase your benefit from three-quarters cover to full cover.

Hope that helps!

I read the pdf, planning on running it with my group next week, it seems very fun and I love the take on the 5e rules for sci-fi. I have a question though since i cant find it in the pdf, what the computer and xenobiology skills do exactly? I can hand wave it but got me intrigued.

Hi, Victor. Sorry for the delayed response.

The Computer skill is required to operate an unfamiliar computer system, perform a system search under pressure, hack a computer operated panel, or extract data from a secure server. It will also be used to navigate the Silrayne Intergalactic Matrix (SIM) once the core rules are released.

Xenobiology is useful when recalling information about the many alien species that exist, identifying their differences, habits, and various environments within the planets in which they reside.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
