The Storm Knights' Guide to Monster Hunters

A friend who's playing a monster hunter got this and let me have a peek. There's a lot of nice Occult perks, including new kinds of alchemical brews, bullets, and medallions, plus some Leadership, Prowess, & Social perks that aren't restricted to Orrorshans. One "Followers lite" perk seemed lackluster (you get a follower with no combat stats; why not just take Followers then?), but most of them looked pretty solid to me. I particularly remember one perk that gives bonuses to climbing tests, since a good monster hunter often has to scale castle walls, sheer cliffs, and such. :-) One of the Occult perks grants some bonuses to tracking/find/evidence analysis against the hunter's quarry and encourages role-play of the hunter's mad obession. Very thematic.

There's a bunch of new gear, including weapons and magic/holy items. One particularly dreadful item is a mad mage's journal, which lets a spellcaster occasionally cast any Orrorshan Occultist spell, even if they don't know it, but they...See more have to pass a corruption test first. So tempting.

The stuff about hunting lodges and secret societies is very cool indeed, providing PCs with some kind of anchor in the world that isn't just an abstract "Delphi HQ". Membership is not limited to Orrorshans, but you have to prove your worth through role-play/deeds to be accepted. You get rules for what either organization offers, and some examples of specific lodges/societies. A GM could easily extrapolate from this for other cosms, too.
