The Arkham State Orphanage is surrounded by a terrible mystery: poor children are disappearing for no apparent reason and without leaving any trace, the deputy director Jennifer Gutenberg after having tried in vain to warn her superior and the local authorities will seek help privately to try to shed light on the events.

This was my very first scenario i writed 3 years ago, and although the work seems a little raw for my actual taste i think it could be a good adventure for newbie keepers.

Warning: I am not a native English speaker and i have made mistake with the translation, im trying to improve but i cant afford a professional translater so it will take time, if you want to support me anyway, the pay what you want option is enabled. Thank you

Rudy, I've downloaded and I like what you've done here. I'd be happy to do a quick freebie proofread and edit on this. It wouldn't take me overly long.

Just let me know -- if it's easier than commenting here, you can reach me at simonphbarns at gmail dot com.

Respect for the author: publishing in a foreign language is no mean deed. But why does the MU Press not offer a better lectorate? They are usually selling high quality products.

Sorry, my mistake. I thought you were publishing via Miskatonic University Press; they usually have a good lectorate. Whatever mistakes you make regarding typos and translations should be caught by your editor in my opinion. Such things happen, especially when you write in a foreign language; and that's why there are experts to correct whatever mistakes you may make.

It is my understanding that for any MU product, the author is responsible for proofreading and editing their own work. Harold don't you think it's unfair criticism to complain that a non-english speaker didn't correctly spell words in english?

My name isn't Harold: that proves that typos happen, and that is where lectors come in.
I am used to very well made MU products, and while I like this one, proofreading would help.
It is certainly brave to publish in a foreign language, but if you publish, you have to accept professional standarts being applied to your work.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
