Dark Temple T&T solo

ADD TO WISHLIST >

While passing through the remote province of Myre, you find a pleasant inn to spend the night; a rarity in these parts. After a mug of cider and a half a roast fowl, you settle down for a relaxing evening.

Suddenly there is a pain-racked scream from just outside. You rush out of the Inn, only to find an older adventurer gasping for breath by the side of the road.

The cultists!” He gasps, as his life ebbs away. “‘You have to finish my mission... Take this key and map, do whatever you have to, but stop them from getting the Phoenix Scroll!” Those are the last words he ever utters.

Looking at the map you can feel in your bones that it will be rough going. Even the terrain looks deadly. Somehow, you will have to find the Phoenix Scroll and hide it somewhere the cultists can not follow. But where to hide the scroll, and how do you even find it? Are the cultists truly evil? You met some of them in the Inn. They seemed nice enough. You do not have many answers, but all the roads lead to the Dark Temple

This solitaire adventure is suitable for low & mid level humanoid characters, with adds of 10-75. Limited magic is allowed.

This is a solitaire adventure for Tunnels & Trolls. You need the T&T Rules to play it.

This was 5 stars until the wraiths. i dont think its a spoiler since if you hit it, you hit it. 3 wraiths in mental combat are 2d6+6 each, so 6d6+18. a warrior is limited to 3 dice, rogue 2, wizard their level (1-3). This fight is utterly impossible. I cant find errata. Is there some error I am missing, like the 3 wraiths together combine for 2d6+6? I dont know many 8th - 9th level wizards who would run a lvl 1-3 adventure

Another wonderful T&T solo from Flying Buffalo (and a BIG one at that)!
Mr Stefan Jones did a great job with this and I look forward to several more runs through it with different characters. It has a mini campaign feel to it and will keep you rolling dice and smiling for a long time!
Fantastic art throughout and great production value from Flying Buffalo. As a fairly late comer to T&T I am excited to see content still being produced for this awesome system. I also hope Mr Crompton and the team at FB continue to put out updated versions of the 'classics' (updated Beyond the Wall of Tears, Sorcerers Solitaire, Overkill and Dargons Dungeon - among others all get my vote!)

Author here. A few notes:

You can play "Dark Temple" with the Tunnels & Trolls 5.0 / 5.5, 7.0, 7.5, or Deluxe rules.

The adventure is a little easier with 7.0+, because your characters have the Speed attribute increasing combat adds. (Also, you wizard characters don't lose Strength when they cast spells, having Kremm to do that job!) Still, it is a tough adventure, and you'll need all the help you can get, especially once your character reaches the temple of Krestok and have to face teams of guards.

The layout has been considerably improved by Steve Crompton, the original illustrator who now manages Flying Buffalo. Some of the out now has neat backgrounds worked in, and each paragraph's label (e.g. Para 110) is done in a highly visible archaic-looking display font.

The original book had about a dozen bad "links" due to the paragraph scrambling process. The errata is available on Flying Buffalo's website. All of the problems have been corrected...See more

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
