The archaic special on weapons doesn't seem to have any rules explaining what that does? As a corollary, archaic armor seems weirdly better than modern armor? Chainmail is cheaper and more common than a flak vest, in exchange for a setback to stealth. Mechanically I guess that works, but I wanted to check if that was working as intended?

Rings of Protection also don't seem to have any mechanical effect, despite supposedly helping with defense?

I do like Energy Drinks and Painkillers. The former as a healing item for strain was always something I thought was oddly missing and is a clever solution, and Painkillers wearing off in two hours fixes an issue I've had with them being strong enough to make standard first aid frequently irrelevant.

The archaic special on weapons is there to differentiate them from modern weapons in terms of Craftsmanship, as certain craftsmanships can only be applied to archaic weapons and armor.
I will look over the armor and think about possibly making changes based on what you’ve said.
The Rings of Protection bit was an editing mistake, thanks for pointing that out. I will be changing that today or tomorrow, whenever I have the time. Lesser rings add +1 melee & ranged defense, greater add +2.
And yeah, the energy drinks & painkillers have worked really well in our campaigns. Making them only a temporary fix really makes the world feel more real and dangerous.
