They Came from the Stars II

Want to experience movies like The Thing, Them! and Night of the Living Dead? They Came from the Stars II is the sequel to the first roleplaying game published by High Calibre Wizard. It has been updated with the rules system used in Seance; using six sided dice. Number of dice rolled are determined by the level of a skill, and the highest dice result is winning.

They Came from the Stars II is a retro science fiction horror roleplaying game, set in the middle of the 20th century. The Cold War is in full effect, and USA is involved in Vietnam and Korea. There's a fear of communism, and nuclear Armageddon. Despite the seriousness it's very much possible to play a more lighthearted (or cheesy) adventure if one so chooses; very much similar to many of the B-movies made in this era.

They Came from the Stars II features many new monsters, and a few returning ones. The classic extraterrestrial Greys, and mysterious Men in Black, make a first appearance for the series. There are also more horrific creatures; like irradiated spiders and outer dimensional specters.

Many celebrated features from the original They Came from the Stars! are returning, such as the possibility for the gamemaster to easily create a bio-engineered monster. Meanwhile, the rules have been streamlined and are more in spirit (no pun intended) with Seance. The system favors fast play, and more freedom for both players and the gamemaster.
