Rapture: The End of Days, Sci-fi Soundscapes Set 3 - Demanding Demands! (audio product)

You better give them what they want, man...

The shots are fired, the demand is made, and the brigands are at your door (or in this case, airlock). What do you do? Roll over and give them what they want and just hope they don't throw you out an airlock, or do you fight back, risking the ship, the crew, and your own, precious life? While these decisions are being made, you need some good, tense, background music to heighten the tension, and this package provides all that, and more!

To give your ears a tantalising sample of the audio clues and soundscapes included with StoryWeaver's products, we've taken a selection from our second transmedia adventure, Near Death Experience 02: Transit to Perdition, for you to experience.

That's right; you get to peruse and use the following:

1. Pirate Demand Transmission - a gruff, threatening, and fairly generic demand from one ship to another, after the warning shots have been fired. This is a great little set piece that really gets the players into the moment when their ship had been waylaid by pirates! Deliberately generic to fit into your own game.

2. The Tension Is Killing Me - the title speaks for itself! Something is not right here, there are crew missing, there are strange, bloody footprints leading to the lower decks, and every bump and creak of the superstructure feels like death! Then you sense it more than hear it, whateveritis... it's on this deck, and it's coming... for you!

The Tension Is Killing Me is straight out of NDE2 : Transit to Perdition and gives you a great idea of the quality of audio enhancements you can expect in NDE2, and all of our adventure products.

3. Like Love From A Little Fake Girl - she's pleasant, she's cheery, she anime-esque, and there is really, really, something not right about her. Is it the ‘bubble-boy' suit she's forced to wear, or the care-free way she skips around, almost totally incongruent to the situation you are sharing. How did she get here? What is she doing? And why is it, when she looks at you, you want to silently scream???

Like Love From A Little Fake Girl is a previously unreleased soundscape, only available in this package. These three, high quality audio files could easily be used in your own games of Rapture: The End of Days, or any other sci-fi game you might be planning.

So don't delay. At this price, what have you got to fear? [insert evil laugh, fading into the void]

Also, check out Rapture: The End of Days, Sci-Fi Soundscapes 1: Void Souls and Rapture: The End of Days, Sci-fi Soundscapes Set 2 - Save Our Souls! for more great background ambiance.

Whilst tailored for use with StoryWeaver's adventure 'Transit to Perdition' I am sure devious minds behind the GM's screen will come up with ways to make use of these sound files whatever they happen to be running... First up (and a good way to [...]

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
