Modular Necromancer Ship

The aftcastle skull was a great place to start the print. The model prints very easy. I only experienced a few problems during printing, and they were due to clogging print heads or getting the temperature right to avoid whiskers. I did have to do a fair amount of trimming under the deck boards of scragly material. In some cases that material was needed to support the deck planking. The bone patterns and connections line up well. The dragon figure head was a bit fussy to print and attach. I broke it several times and eventually had to skip using the ful clips. I'm not sure if it was from shrinkage in the prow receiver of the clip or just the competing angles of the clips. It still attached and looks pretty good. I have not tried to paint any of it yet, but I printed in white to give it a good enough look without paint.

Thank you for the review Eric!! I might go through and reinforce the decking tiles along the edges to help prevent board damage. I can look at dropping vertical supports to help prevent the hanging tendrils that happen- but I had personally liked their appearance with the decking and thought it added to the look of age on the pieces. The dragon figurehead definitely prints best in PLA+, I am sorry that it was fussy for you. Glad to hear that you liked the ship as a whole, and I'll play with the options to help reduce print headaches :-)

WINTERHAWK: Wizard's Tower

One of the first buildings my son and I attempted was the Orc Tower. This kit is very similar. The new artwork inside and out makes this tower very distinct. The bookshelves and crystals are nicely arranged. The new upper deck and capstone center make this tower a scholarly observatory versus the battlement top of the other tower. As always, the construction is easy to follow. Overall worth the purchase and time to build. Each level can be used for a different part of the story while adventuring.

This model has a few trickier section to glue from a manual dexterity perspective. The colors and textures are great on the ruins. The model is easy to follow. The setting is great for those edge of town or on the road adventures.

WINTERHAWK: Church

The church was a good addition to the town scape. The instructions and markings for cutting and folding are easy to follow. My 8 yr old son helps cut and fold and the church only had a few things that needed to be resquared by me after he was done. I really like the textures and layers. Being able to select whether the roof had weathering and stains was a nice touch. The later projects with fold flat parts will travel a lot better than the first rounds of models we completed. Overall a great way to enhance any roll playing or mini figure game.

WINTERHAWK: Tower Ruins

These are a snap to build and add so much depth to the visualization of the game. The tower ruins adventures we run take a lot less explanation of the scene now that we are using the models. My seven year old son has been helping me. Luckily there are good hints on how to customize the tower for when his cuts aren't perfectly on the mark. We made one level of the tower with a print that had too little of one ink so it turned out purple, and that gave it distinction in the game as "The Tower with the Purple Base". The print detail really makes these stand out. Even people who don't role play pay us compliments when they see them on the shelf.
