Very good introductory adventure to the world of Mothership, in just one page (both sides) enough content to enjoy an afternoon with your friends. Make them feel the uneasyness and the terror of the haunting of Ypsilon-14

Had trouble filling in some details as its content are very minimal and leave alot up to the Gm and players. Super fun stuff!

Great stuff, Not sure if 10 NPC is not too much but you can always adjust to what it want. I used thisas my first game being DM.

I ran this as my first ever Mothership game with 3 brand new players. I had a great time with it! It's perfectly themed for Mothership and prep is a breeze. You can expand the adventure if you want. One tip: you'll want a reason for your players to be trapped on Ypsilon 14, at least for a while.

For a longer, more coherent version of the little review below, pls visit my review blog!

This is an excellent Mothership introduction to Mothership. The design, by Sean McCoy is A+ level, with the entire inner 3 folds of the pamphlet being the flow chart of the layout of the colony and all the descriptions that go with it. I absolutely LOVE the convenience of this. The game itself is super scary with just the right level of evocative, creepy detail. The challenge on this remote asteroid mining colony is tough, and the opponent extremely nasty in ways that should easily be as terrifying as Alien's xenomorphs or the predator with a large amount of body horror thrown in. It's tough, but beatable, though missteps or bad luck could easily lead to a TPK.

An absurdly good value for the price point and an excellent jumping off point for the Mothership RPG.

This is the most densely packed game I've ever had the pleasure of running. Two pages of info give you everything you need to understand the characters and adventure setting. The map provides much of the adventure info so make sure you read through all the room descriptions in advance so you know how it all ties together. This game does rely on the GM to have pretty decent improv skills - there's a ton of good info here but there's definitely work to be done to actually RUN it. This makes it very flexible but also perhaps overwhelming for folks who like modules to hold their hands a bit more. If that's the case for you I suggest taking some time beforehand to fill in those blanks. What are the characters doing here? What's the situation when they arrive? What are the NPCs doing and feeling when they arrive? Those are left wide open and you may want to decide on these things in advance. There are also a bunch of great online resources availale for folks who want ideas on how to run the game. I'm probably not allowed to advertise those here but I highly suggest looking into them to help make this module really shine! Not necessary though, I think the module stands on its own just fine.

For what you get, the $1.99 price point is more than reasonable. It's too bare-bones for me to run without prep (I think doing so would result in things rushing along too quickly, and even in a one-shot you don't want that!), but with a little prep, it makes for an excellent intro to Mothership.

Pros -The layout is perfect. Everything is easy to find and no space is wasted. The map (for what it is) works. -The monster. In combination with the goo, the doctor, and perhaps a few other infected crew members, there was just the right amount of threats to keep the game fun and exciting. -The atmosphere. It's unapologetically "Alien", right down to the cat - but that's not a bad thing at all. -Diversity. This really is the perfect starter - you need ALL the skills, tools, and tricks Mothership employs (outside of the confusing spaceship stuff, which is probably better avoided on an introductory playthrough!) No one feels left out. After this game, your players will know if they like Mothership and want more, or don't.

Cons -Introduction. It's really hard to say how the module should start. If the crew is begging your PCs for help with a missing person, then you've got a lot of NPCs that would naturally be huddling together, scared. How's the monster supposed to deal with that? If they aren't aware of the missing crewmember, then what are your PCs supposed to do while the NPCs go about their business, getting picked off slowly to raise the tension? Once things get going the module is lovely, but this obstacle must be overcome first.

A good warden (or a well-prepped one) will have no problem with that slight con. This module is still the best Mothership supplement, and is a must-play.

It seemed very bare bones at first, and it is. But knowing a bit about the influences, obviously Alien, it's pretty cool and straight forward.

It was tense, and indeed scary at times. I ran it and I think I could have used some more familiarity with the system, because it was the first time we played, but it was a very good jumpstart point. I really recommend this module

Ran this for my work group and had one of the most chaotic sessions of my life. Great monster, great location, and the adition of sound files was a huge hit. Do wish it had a stronger hook but otherwise a fantastic little adventure.

Ran this module as our "intro to mothership" module at the 11th hour. A good dense little module that was enough for people to bite into but not too much so that you actually have to do prep to run it. Pretty optimal starter mission.

I just played this module with 4 young teenagers, we had a blast! I love the tri-fold idea, it made it just seem user friendly and doable as a one shot for a GM. The audio files were awesome, really grabbed the players. We played for two hours and had some awesome stories by the end.

One player got infected and so the android amputed his hand to save him, after shooting him with the Scientist's tranqualizer gun. After piles of horrible rolls and four "surgeries" with a scalpel and a cutting torch later, the guy had lost his arm up to the shoulder. The android character worried his arm pieces would infect the other players so she found a medical bag for contagious material. After putting all the gore in the bag and cinching it up, she looked down at the patient and noticed his patch, which said "meatbag"! We all busted up laughing, so awesome!

Thanks so much, I hope more one shots are made like this, we had a blast.
